BOXSCORE

GAME SUMMARY:

Virginia beats West Virginia 27-10.  This game was closer than the final score indicates, as West Virginia scored first to go up 7-0.  Virginia surged ahead to 17-7 in the 3rd quarter, and were ahead only 17-10 when Connor Hughes missed a chip shot 26 yard FG after a long drive in the 4th quarter.  West Virginia had the chance to tie with a touchdown drive, but fumbled on the very next play.  Tom Santi then scored on the next play on a 20 yard TD pass to put the game out of reach.  Virginia added another FG to make the final 27-10.

Virginia ran for 254 yards to West Virginia's 162, and the Cavaliers outpassed the Mountaineers 200-116.

Bob is a very good coach who had a very good game plan, just didn't get the rolls when he needed them most.  Virginia was 9-15 on 3rd downs, to West Virginia's 3-11, and 0-3 on 4th down attempts.  That, a! nd the one critical fumble sums up this otherwise even game.

BOXSCORE

GAME SUMMARY:

Boston College scored on their first 4 possessions, missed a field goal and punted only once in the first half, building a 20-10 half-time lead.  Boston College got most of the breaks including an A&M fumbled kickoff return and also picked Aggie QB Reggie McNeal.

The third quarter was very intense and well played by both teams.  At the end of the third quarter, the Aggies closed the score to BC 27  Texas A&M 20 and it was definitely game on as momentum seemed to be shifting Texas A&M's way.

However, In the fourth quarter the BC defense stepped up and the Eagles outscored Texas A&M 10-0 to take the win 37-20.

The BC win sets up a great match-up next week with currently  #1 ranked Virginia!

GAME SUMMARY:

BUCKEYES BULLY BADGERS 37-18

The Buckeyes won for the 3rd straight week, to raise their record to 7-3, with a 37-18 pounding of the Wisconsin Badgers. Having no fear of John Stocco, the Buckeyes put all their effort into stopping the Wisconsin running game. 36 carries for 122 yards and a 3.1 avg did not get the Badgers far. Stocco completed only 14 of 38 passes for 165 yards and 1 TD wich came in the closing seconds of the game. A 48 yarder to Brandon Williams. 12 of Wisconsins 18 points came in the last 4:30 of the game.

OSU took a 20-0 lead into the final seconds of the first half on a 2 yard pass from Smith to Holmes, a 10 yard Pittman run, a 9 yard Troy Smith run, and a 49 yard Nugent FG. The Badgers got on the board wi! th a 20 play, 67 yard 7 minute 39 seconds drive that got them only 3 points on a 33 yard Mike Allen FG with 0:52 left in the half.

The Badgers had either a horrible time moving the ball (five 3 and outs, one 5 and out)

or they had long well thought out drives which Don had my head spinning. He had 2 great drives besides the 20 play FG drive.....

A 17 play 59 yarder 7 minute 30 seconds, that got him only 3 points again. And a 19 play, 63 yarder, that took 6:36 off the clock and ended with a 2 yard Anthony Davis run with 4:30 left in the game.

OSU as a team carried 33 times for 199 yards and a 6.0 yard per carry avg.
