BOXSCORE

GAME SUMMARY:

Kansas upsets Wisconsin 19-18 today.

Wisconsin could not hold the ball at all and had 7 turnovers; 5 fumbles with 3 lost and 4 interceptions.

Wisconsin also had a 51 yard passing TD called back due to offsetting penalties in the 1st quarter.

It was not Wisconsin's day and Kansas marched down on their first drive of the day and scored. The XP was wide and Kansas led 6-0.

What happens on Wisconsin's first drive? On their first play of the day Wisconsin fumbles, but luckily recovers this one. Then 4 plays later it ends on an interception by Kansas.

Luckily Kansas goes 3 and out and punts.

3 plays later Wisconsin scores on a 51 yard pass play only to be called back by offsetting penalties.

The write up can really stop there because this is how the entire game went.

But in a nutshell, Wisconsin did pin Kansas for a safety after that and was down 6-2, proceeded to score the next 2 TD's and go up 15-6. (another XP failed).

Wisconsin held the lead 18-13 until late in the game.

They had the ball with time running out but guess what? HB Anthony Davis coughs up the ball at Wisconsin's own 33 with about 3 minutes left in the game!

Wisconsin's defense holds Kansas to 4th down and 7 yards to go with 2 minutes left. Kansas needs a touchdown to win. What happens? Kansas connects on the 20 yard bomb (guessed right) and goes on to win the game.

A great comeback and well coached game by Mike Payne.

Kansas had a real good defensive card too.

Again, it's very hard to win a game with 7 turnovers.

Mike deserved this win anyways as Kansas had 3 more first downs and 11 more minutes of possesion time.

Down goes Wisconsin!

With the Buckeyes backed up against their own goal, looking to get out of the hole, Smith let one fly (long pass guessed right, box cars) to Holmes and he took it all the way for a 93 yard score to end the pummeling, 80-16.

Coach Knight was quoted after the game "I am not a coach that like to rub it in and run the score up. I am not responsible for our schedule you would have to talk with the atheletic director. Our competition hasn't been where I would like it to be but we haven't trailed once and we are just keeping everything pretty simple so far." Coach Knight believes the Cowboys should move up in the polls this week one or two notches. After 500 plus offensive yards this week they really put on a show.
